高句麗の１９代目の王である談読、広開土王（３９１年〜４１３年）が一番大きく領土を広げることが出来たわけですが死後、その功績を称えるために次の王、長寿王が４１４年に建てた記念碑が中国の吉林省集安市にありますがいくつかあるレプリカの一つがソウルの戦争記念館の庭に展示されています大きさは思ったより大きく（高さ約６．３ｍ、幅１．５ｍの角柱）また彫られてある文字は損傷が激しく読めません
