北海道小樽市築港11 ／ 11, Chikko, Otaru-shi, Hokkaido 雪の中の観覧車…。言葉にすればどこかロマンティックで、想像すると幻想的な光景を思い浮かべる。が、しかし実際は小樽築港駅を降りてだだっ広い渡り廊下のような所を歩くこと数分、突然のように吹雪き出し自分以外誰一人いない空間で目の前に現れたのは、じぃっと止まったままの巨大で複雑な構造をした鉄の塊だった。もともと冬には稼働させなかったのか、客が少なくて採算が合わなかったのかはわからないが、冬の日本海から押し寄せる寒風の吹きっ晒しの中、動きもせず人を乗せることもなくただ重々しくあるその姿はやけに裏寂しく冷たい光景に見…
