Ron Sexsmith〔ロン・セクスミス〕のメジャー・レーベルからの1stアルバムは「RON SEXSMITH」という飾り気のないタイトルだ。 それ以前にも自主制作盤やインディー・レーベルからのリリースもあるが、やはり、Ron Sexsmithの1stと言えば、この「RON SEXSMITH」だろう。 きっと、「RON SEXSMITH」というタイトルも、本人がそのつもりで付けたのではないだろうか？ このアルバムにはElvis Costello〔エルヴィス・コステロ〕が、「この先、20年は聴き続けられる」という賛辞を贈っていたこともあり、日本盤がリリースされる前から洋楽雑誌で話題になっていた…
