群馬県の四万（しま）温泉。 ようやく桜が咲き始めた山間を抜けて宿に入り、川の音を聴きながらのんびり湯に浸かる。 前回、お湯とともに感動したのが宿の食事。山菜が中心と言えばひと言だが、ここに並ぶまでの見えない手間の数々。 これは、古くはあるが支度の行き届いた部屋にいても感じることで、つかず離れず、さりげなくそうなっているように見えて、実はその裏にある配慮と誠意。そういうところに私たちは感動するのだと思う。本当に素晴らしい。 （こちらは翌朝の朝食。）
