SIMロックを解除し、 Amazon で買った中国聯通香港のプリペイドSIMを挿す。iPhone 6s 以降に発売されたスマホなら SIM ロック解除できる (購入直後でも解除できるようになった) 2018年になって、SIMロックの解除要件が緩和されたこと、また中国聯通香港のLTEプリペイドSIMが容易に手に入り、グレートファイアウォールの規制を受けないことから、非常にお手軽になったと言えよう。 また、中国によく出入りしている人には、単価が安いプリペイドSIMがタイやシンガポール経由で調達できるようになったこと、また現地SIMが一層安くなったことが朗報と言える。
