国旗にくらべて国章は普段あまり意識しませんが、おそらくすべての国が国章をもっています。法律で定められているか、慣例的に使われているかという違いはありますが。 ウズベキスタンにももちろん国章があり、現在の国章はウズベキスタンがソビエト連邦から独立した後、1972年に採用されたものです。 独立してデザインがガラッと変わったかといえばそんなことはなく、ウズベキスタンを支える重要作物である小麦と綿花が、変わらず取り入れられています。 上部の八芒星と月星はイスラムの象徴、中央で羽を広げるのは伝説の不死鳥「フモ (※)」、背後にウズベキスタンの国土と2本の川 (アムダリヤ川とシルダリヤ川) が流れています…
